Labioplasty

Labioplasty is the operation to reduce the size of the labia. Usually it is the internal labia which are excessive; and usually the problems experienced are those of irritation – the catching and rubbing from friction.

The operation is simple – a removing of the excess, and stitching the smaller labia closed. This is done under a general anesthetic with you asleep, because that area becomes so swollen when large amounts of local anesthetic are injected. That area is also very sensitive, so a lot of local anesthetic would be needed. Because it is so sensitive, and reactive, you will have quite a lot of discomfort, and pain, for about a week after surgery.

The aim of surgery is to give you normally appearing and sized internal labia.
